What you may have not known about Gino and Sandy:

Gino and Sandy have a wide range of experiences from two opposite sides of the country (Gino is from the midwest, Sandy is from the west coast) and opposite quadrants of the personality spectrums: Gino’s personality is dominant, outgoing and results driven, whereas Sandy’s personality is reserved, people-oriented, and driven by relationship building. Both Gino and Sandy were raised with a deep-rooted appreciation for family, celebrations, and gatherings with amazing cultural food! Gino with the Italian culture, Sandy with the Japanese culture. Uniquely designed yet united as one in faith and in their enjoyment with helping people enrich their lives with purpose and activity, and having FUN: work hard, play hard.

As the creators of business networks and programs, they have advised hundreds of small businesses and collaborated with small business owners across a broad spectrum, so they bring a lot of expertise to the individuals and organizations that they work with.

Gino and Sandy have been in the business of connecting people through interactive events for many years now - including business network meetings, professional headshot parties, fashion shows, business building workshops, business expos, interactive conferences, retreats, Smok’in BBQs, and more.

At the home-front, this powerhouse couple have not only raised two entrepreneurial daughters of their own, they have hosted over 80 international students over the last 30 years through which they have become familiar with various cultures and personalities in the process, further enriching their adaptability and understanding of how to create memorable moments that nurture the building of relationships and warm connections that continue past the day of the events.

The Story behind Memorable Connections:

A little background on why Gino and Sandy have such a passion for community and why they do what they do as coaches, especially for the business community:

One day, during a downturn in the economy they were driving on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara and took notice of the empty storefronts in this prime area! At that point they began thinking about what they could do to help bring back business and support local business owners. With Sandy’s experience in business networks and having conversations with small business owners, it was apparent that there was a big gap between what one needed and what the other offered. If we could only bring these people together!

Most brick and mortar businesses were run by the owner with little time to step out past their door and into the world around them. But how about ONE day? Could they arrange one day to step out and into an oasis of resources for them?

So the BIG PICTURE idea began: One day, one place, one time to bring together business owners and entrepreneurs who needed help, and connect them with those who could provide the help: marketing, financial, website development, social media marketing, business training, professional headshot photography, promotional items, and of course add food and fun! After all, this ONE day is going to be the ultimate treat for each and every person attending and participating. And so it was! in 2013, the very first annual Santa Barbara Business Expo was launched at Fess Parkers’ Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, CA. 250 people attended and it won the attention and envy of even the most established business organizations in town - they were dumbfounded at how two people could pull off such an impactful event.
